Bheeshmadronathata jayadrathajala gandhara neelotpala
shalyagrahavati krupena vahani karnena velakula
asvatthamavikarna ghoramakara duryadhanavartini
sotthirna khalu pandavai rananadhi kaivartaka: kesava:

word to word meaning:
bheeshma drona thata- (in the battle field of kurukshetra)Bheeshma and
drona were banks;jayadratha- Jayadratha; jala-(was) the water;
Gandhara- the king of Gandhara; neelotpala- (was) the flower of
Neelotpala; shalya- king Shalya; grahavati- (was) the shark; krupena-
krupa; vahani- (was) the flow; karnena- Karna ; vela akula- the big
waves; asvatthama:- Asvatthama; vikarna- (and ) Vikarna; Ghora –
deadly; makara- makara fishes; duryodhana- Duryodana; vartini-
(was)the whirlpool; sa- that; rananadhi- river like war; khalu- (was)
indeed ; utheerna- crossed over; pandavai- by Pandavas; kesava:-
(with) Kesava; kaivartaka:- as the boatman.

sloka meaning:

In the battle field of Kurukshetra, Bheeshma and Drona were the banks;
Jayadratha was the water;the king of Gandhara was the flower of
neelotpala; Shalya was the shark; Krupa was the flow; Karna was the
big waves; Asvatthama and Vikarna were the deadly makara fishes; and
Duryodana was the whirlpool.That river like war was indeed crossed
over by the Pandavas with Kesava as the boatman
